Magnetic Shielding

Magnetic shielding prevents surrounding magnetic fields from reaching sensitive areas of a piece of equipment whose operation may be affected by the fields. Magnetic field lines tend to pass through a magnetic substance rather than through non-magnetic substances. These magnetic substances work by diverting the magnetic fields.
