Vasodialation

• Relaxation of muscles in arteriole walls
• Increase diameter of blood vessel
• Increase blood flow

Vasoconstriction

• Contraction of muscles in arteriole walls
• Decrease diameter of blood vessel
• Decrease blood flow

Shunt Vessel

• Links artery directly to vein, allowing blood to bypass blood capillaries
• Can control blood flow by constriction and dilation
