Focusing on a distant object

  1. Light rays from a distant object enter the eye as almost parallel rays to fall on the Retina
  2. Retina sends impulses to the brain, which sends impulses to the ciliary muscles
  3. Ciliary muscles relax. causing the Suspensory Ligament to become taut
  4. Suspensory Ligament pull on the lens more
  5. Lens becomes thinner and less curved, causing less refraction of the rays of light
