Application of Magnetic Effect of Current

Circuit Breaker

• When the operating current is flowing, the electromagnet is not strong enough to separate the contacts
• If current is too high, strong magnetic force of electromagnet will attract one of the contact and separate the contacts and break the circuit
• Contacts pushed back by reset button once fault is rectified
