Transport in Humans
-
Lack of nucleus in RBC increases the volume available for haemoglobin, not to hold extra oxygen molecules
-
Antibody vs Antigen:
- Antibody: Protein produced by your immune system to attack and fight off antigens
- Antigen: foreign substance that enters your body (eg. bacteria, virus, fungi)
-
Ventricular contraction:
- Muscle of left ventricle contracts, not the chamber itself
-
Carrying of drug to heart muscle:
- Drug need to dissolve in blood plasma first, then carried in veins to the heart -> aorta -> coronary artery
-
Arteriole have more muscle fibres than large arteries
- Muscle fibres need to contract and relax for vasoconstruction and vasodilation
